Our Efforts in Vietnam

Since 2013, we’ve been working alongside local partners that champion gender equality and environmentally sustainable community economic development initiatives. Our efforts focus on agribusiness and building the tourism sector—a provider of jobs to many marginalized people, particularly women. We strengthen the capacities of small businesses, organizations and institutions, advancing their operations, improving service quality and creating jobs.

Our Focus

Building Capacity for Tourism and Hospitality

Through our Accelerating Women’s Empowerment program, we help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and other partners embrace green practices while increasing productivity and competitiveness. We focus on employment and skills development for women and policies that promote gender equality.

How We’ve Made a Difference in Vietnam

▪ The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry expanded their network and influence in the tourism and hospitality sector, making them better poised to support businesses.

▪ Staff at Saigontourist Hospitality College are building their academic capacity and strengthening gender equality in their work.

▪ About 50% of our partners in agribusiness were able to offer new employment opportunities, mostly to women.
