IGNITE
Inclusive Growth and Networks for Investment, Trade and Economic Linkages
IGNITE is a multi-country, multi-year technical assistance program funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). We support governments and stakeholders across 15 countries in Latin America to strengthen institutional capacity and foster sustainable economic growth, trade, and investment. IGNITE also strengthens economic partnerships and collaboration opportunities between Canada and the region.
Program Focus
IGNITE provides high-level technical assistance through Canadian and local expert advisors to:
- Strengthen public sector capacity
- Improve policy and regulatory frameworks
- Support business-enabling environments
- Improve trade and investment conditions
- Promote inclusive economic participation
Our Approach
Operating at the intersection of development and trade, we focus on strengthening institutional systems, supporting value chains and economic ecosystems, and promoting inclusive and sustainable growth. We work through short- and medium-term assignments, in-person, virtual, and hybrid technical assistance, and flexible, demand-driven opportunities.

Geographic Scope
IGNITE employs a differentiated implementation across 15 countries in Latin America. Colombia, Peru, and Guatemala are considered primary implementation countries as regional hubs. Ecuador, Bolivia, El Salvador, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic are also primary implementation countries. Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay are selective engagement countries that will be opportunity-driven and eligible based on demand and strategic fit.
