Our Efforts in Antigua and Barbuda

Catalyste+ has had a fruitful relationship with the Eastern Caribbean States for more than 40 years and resumed operations in Antigua and Barbuda in 2021. Our partnerships in the tourism, manufacturing and agriculture sectors have led to the transformation of small business processes and strengthening of community economic development. Today, our focus is on enhancing governance to better address social inequalities and promote economic diversification. Gender equality and environmental sustainability are at the core of our efforts.

Our Focus

Promoting Gender Equality

Through the Canada-CARICOM Expert Deployment Mechanism (CCEDM), we build the capacity of government organizations to develop policies, regulations and practices that prioritize the needs of women and vulnerable groups. We’re mainstreaming gender in human resources and ensuring goods and services are more accessible to women and other marginalized groups.

How We’ve Made a Difference in Antigua and Barbuda

▪ The Directorate of Gender Affairs demonstrated the value of implementing sexual harassment prevention regulations to other ministries, leading to the development of a sexual harassment policy.
